On the Beauty of Prophetic Splendor

- Why mention Yusuf and the women who cut their fingers
when bewildered by your beauty, moon cleft asunder

- Pearls why slip away from my eyes
wait til Medina where there is Love and joy

- With joy count the days to the final hour
the meeting is with my Lord and Muhammad is the guest of honor

- O Poet don’t mention ‘beloved’
Lest, we forget the salutations on the Prophet.

- On hearing your name my heart complained
ah! love, how can I describe this longing pain

The One I see

I see in darkness
The heart that is made of light

I see in this light
The truth that shine so bright

I see in a stormy night
The boat that is on the path alright

I see in your smile
The pain that is sealed inside

I see in the falling tears
The love that is on my side

I see in your life
piety that strolls upright

I see in your sight
compassion that storms your heart

I see in your love
God will make it Right

I see in you beloved
God is on my side

I see in you at last
God’s mercy so vast

I see in you my heart
Muhammad, God will not keep us apart

O Heart

O Heart, just refrain
From all that is vain

And only complain
To God who shall remain

And know, this calamity shall not be the end
But a means to get to the furthest end

In heavens,
where all delights are for God’s merciful friends

A Struggling Soul

Like a desert flower away from sight
Like a frightened child who screams at night
Like a raging storm with all it’s might

Like a delicate bird singing from height
Like a meandering river moving left and right
Like a shooting star high above so bright

Like a dim lamp struggling to give light
Like a smile sealing what’s inside
Like a book, read without any guide

Like a cloud, roaming mindless of height
Like a secret, held in one’s heart so tight
Like a fire illuminating others while dying inside

I ‘m a struggling soul – God! will you be my guide?

So Beautiful

Each breathe that I take
Praise be to my Lord
that He has made…

Your coming so beautiful

Mountain tops that I climbed
Yet so short of heavens’ light
that He has made…

Your splendor so beautiful

Tremor within me that I daily find
Glory be to the Master for this smile
that He has made…

Your heart so beautiful

Storm that scuttle my existence
Cried this drowning man, when will this longing end
that He has made…

Your presence so beautiful

Supplication that hurl me ashore
Screamed my heart, extol the merciful Lord
that He has made…

Your dua’ so beautiful

Main Tanha to Nahi

neelay asma kai padsha – Lord of the blue sky
tu manzil meray safar ki – You are the destination of my journey

zindagi may udasi bhi kushi – Sorrow is happiness in life
tu mera hamsafar jo sahi – When You are on this journey side by side

us kay karam ki hay ya barish – It is from His rain like generosity
kay hum ghulamo ki sunta hay wo guzarish – that He does not neglect His slaves’ wishes

Jhuk Jahay Do

Let me bow down to You

dil jo diya – the heart that I gave
tujhay khuda – to you, my Lord
tu he mera – For only You are mine
ay rahbar khuda – O Guardian Lord
parwana tera – This moth of yours
main jalta kahan – could not be burnt in fire
tarapta raha – Yet, I kept struggling
bina tera tarasta raha – without you, I kept seeking
dur na raho – Don’t stay afar
‘ishq main jal janay do – Set me ablaze in your love

bas jhuk janay do (in Urdu) – just let me bow down to you
