Salam Alaikum Brothers/Sisters,
It is that time of the year when everybody is getting ready to celebrate the… (drum roll please!) …
EID… right? (who said the New Year?) ..istaghfirullah!
I will be giving Eid Khutba and thought that I could use a little … YELP!!!
No, I mean help as in suggestions/contributions from you.
What should an Eid khutba be about? There are plenty of topics that come to my mind. But I may overlook things that might be really important to You. So instead of calling people, I decided to ask people who visit this blog to suggest what Eid Khutba should be about. Hey, it’s your chance to chime in – please do so!

Salaam alaikkum,
Whether one has actually made the pilgrimage or not, most Muslims know the physical rites entailed in the journey to Mecca and the obligation on every Muslim who has the means to fulfill this duty of hajj their lifetime. I would, however, like to hear more about our spiritual journey to Allah (SWT) as Muslims. Brother, would you consider explaining a qalb saleem (sound heart) and how we establish and maintain this connection to our Rab in your Eid khutbah, Insha’Allah?
Nasihah

Walaikum salaam Faraz,
The possibilities are endless here! A few thoughts came to mind so insha’Allah I hope they will help you.
1. The Celebration of Eid: A Step Towards Strengthening the Ummah with Love and Harmony
-Islamic celebration of Eid and how we first thank Allah (SWT) for His uncountable, seen and unseen blessings.
-The importance of deepening the brotherhood among Muslims
-Protecting relationships, being merciful to Allah, as well as one another, both the young and old
-Not here to celebrate for entertainment but to celebrate the worship of Allah
-Strengthen bonds together through all acts of worship and how the Prophet (s) orders us to greet one another with peace, blessings, shaking hands, smiling, etc.
-Eid being a proof that all Muslims are one ummah and one body even though we have different traditions, speak different languages and are of different colors
- Be kindful amongst the Believers
- On blessed gatherings such as Eid, Muslims should begin to take true steps towards developing love and harmony towards one another

2. Importance of Seeking Knowledge
-Muslims, both male and female should make it a continual obligation to seek knowledge and understand our deen
-Knowledge paves the way for Iman
-Leads to righteous deeds and is a sign to acceptance and pleasure of Allah (SWT)
-Allah made this task for the Prophet (s) to learn and teach…to learn what Allah taught him from Quran, the book of guidance and wisdom, and to teach the people around him what Allah had taught him
-How the companions of the Prophet (s) used to ask him about every matter in their lives and he used to answer them with kindness and humbleness
-Learn and understand whether it be a little or a lot and apply it to your life as well as teach others
-Spread correct knowledge of the deen which will stem other knowledge
-Knowledge is beneficial also for dawah purposes
Other possible topics that came to mind…Trust in Allah (SWT), Patience, The Importance of Sincerity.
Good luck insha’Allah.

if someone is willing to sacrifice near 10 grand and 2 weeks to go do hajj then when they get back they won’t lift a finger to help out.
